We believe early learning begins with meaningful opportunities to discover through play. Haltom Christian School immerses our prekindergarten students in a creative and fun education through thematic units, sensory centers, crafts, games, story time, and songs. Each child's curiosity is ignited through a routine schedule of reading, singing, and imaginative play. Teachers use biblical worldview curriculum to begin laying biblical precepts in the heart of every child while developing their knowledge of letters, numbers, colors, and shapes.
Curriculum Overview:
*Preschool for Fours students must be four years old by September 1st of the current school year and fully potty-trained.
Kindergarten at Haltom Christian School provides foundational learning opportunities for all students. Nurturing teachers, a structured environment, and small class sizes allow us to personalize instruction and prepare each child to excel spiritually, academically, and socially.
Our Kindergarten program encourages students to explore and develop interests leading them to become lifelong learners.
Our Kindergarten curriculum uses research based and proven programs for reading groups, writer's workshop, and math stations that equip students to be confident and prepared for elementary school. A biblical worldview is woven throughout every subject daily to lay a solid foundation of spiritual truth.
Additionally, hands-on activities and field trips are integrated into the curriculum resulting in opportunities for project-based learning and development of critical thinking skills. Students also participate in art exploration, Spanish classes, music classes and P.E. throughout the week.
HCS provides the opportunity for children to participate in a half day of Kindergarten. Children are assigned a Kindergarten buddy who will help them through the daily schedule as they experience what it means to be an HCS Archer!
Haltom Christian School offers elementary programs for children in 1st-6th grade. Our elementary school program offers a nurturing environment where every child is challenged to meet their fullest potential.
Classrooms provide an active, vibrant atmosphere where learning is fun and teachers meet each child’s individual learning needs. Small groups and differentiated instruction contribute significantly to the quality of our academic program.
Chapel Mondays are a cherished time of fellowship, and daily Bible lessons are often children's favorite part of the day. Teachers integrate lessons with biblical truth as children discover who God is and who they are to God.
Students learn the importance of serving others through service projects with a missions focus. Whether participating in a canned food drive or writing letters to first responders, HCS Archers learn to value others above themselves.
Students attend specials daily including Spanish, music, art, and library. Students also participate in curriculum-aligned field trips and activities.
HCS implements a research based literacy program with a strong focus on phonics and grammar. An individualized reading program with an emphasis on comprehension and critical thinking develops confident readers.
Fundamentals of writing begin with the development of fine motor skills, progress into excellent penmanship, and culminate in the ability to write skillfully and creatively.
A hands-on math program that introduces, reviews, and reinforces mathematical concepts empowers students to make practical application of math skills with confidence.
The heart at Haltom Christian School is to create opportunities for families to make memories as they learn together.
Our goal is for parents, students, and teachers to develop relationships with one another as we grow in wisdom and raise our children in the admonition of the Lord. Creating a community to serve and fellowship with one another strengthens families at Haltom Christian School.

Haltom Christian School takes advantage of all opportunities outside our core curriculum to engage students through extracurricular subjects such as music, in-depth art classes, and other hands-on courses.
We teach a love and appreciation for the beauty in music and art through musical and theatrical productions. We make physical activity fun through play.
